Tarshito Nicola Strippoli

Tarshito means "thirst for inner knowledge" in Sanskrit: it is the name that the guru Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh gave to his student Nicola Strippoli, in 1979, during the latter’s first journey to India. Tarshito is an outsider in relation to anything that might be called a trend and an insider in that sphere of inspiration and motifs that (as he would put it) come to the Earth directly from the Sky. He uses materials and symbols that belong to ancient traditions and cultures, although his work is committed to the present and aspires to contribute to the future. He is open to any technique, he masters all of them without possessing any because he is indeed a master in the skill of infusing his own inspiration into the best possible craftsmen, regardless of whether they were born in Apulia or Tibet; and of making them become, as if by magic, his best allies. Together they aim for the best possible result; and both the project and its execution are equally relevant, indissoluble, and reciprocally necessary.
