May Morris (1862–1938), younger daughter of William Morris, was a significant figure in the British Arts and Crafts movement and a pioneer of ‘art embroidery’. Tom Shone was the film critic of the Sunday Times from 1994 until 1999, when he moved to New York. He is the author of several books, including Tarantino: A Retrospective and Woody Allen: A Retrospective, also published by Thames & Hudson. He currently teaches film history and criticism at New York University.
