The Madras Quartet : Women In Karnatak Music
Indira Menon was born in Madras and grew up in a musical environment. She received her initial training in Karnatak music from the renowned vocalist T. Brinda and advanced training from the vidwans of the Karnataka Sangeetha Sabha, New Delhi. Besides her deep involvement with classical music, she has a wide range of interests which include art and architecture. She has published articles and book reviews on music. An economics graduate from the Delhi University, Indira is fluent in Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi and English.
