Bombay: An Illustrated History
Jehangir Sorabjee
Bombay is a city perpetually in the making. Restless and constantly reinventing itself, it has grown from a cluster of fishing islands into one of the world's great megacities: a financial powerhouse, shaped by migration and transformation, and the beating heart of India's cinema, art and commerce.
Bombay: An Illustrated History traces this extraordinary history by moving across centuries and exploring the city's evolution from colonial port to modern metropolis, while uncovering the people, events and urban histories that have shaped its distinctive charm and identity.
