William Morris Textiles was the first comprehensivesurvey of the many hundreds of original, colourful textilesproduced by William Morris and the two commercialcompanies he founded and managed. To this day it remainsthe authority in the field, and this revised edition hasbeen completely rewritten and expanded with beautifulnew photography. Linda Parry provides new insight intothe embroideries, printed and woven textiles, carpetsand tapestries produced by Morris & Co. , giving in-depthinformation about their design and manufacture. Thevaried, often highly specialized processes involved arediscussed in detail, as are Morris's working methods.
Linda Parry is former Deputy Keeper of the Departmentof Furniture, Textiles and Fashion at the V&A, where sheworked for over thirty years. She is the author of Textilesof the Arts and Crafts Movement (1988) and British Textilesfrom 1850 to 1900 (1993), and editor of William Morris (1996).Among the exhibitions she curated at the V&A are Textilesof the Arts and Crafts Movement (1988) and William Morris(1996); she also acted as consultant on International Artsand Crafts (V&A 2005).
