Looking Through Coloured Glasses
Lavanya Singh, Manish Godara
The pleasure of writing is unique to everyone, which cannot be compared. For me, writing poems required time, experience and my own space to express myself. Sometimes my thoughts would be lost, other times I couldn't really find the correct words. So getting a collections of my poems in the form of a book - Looking Through Coloured Glasses, was indeed a herculean task, which could not have been accomplished without the help of numerous people. My first and biggest thanks goes to my family, who were the backbone for me and helped me to lay the foundation. My mom (Dr Pratibha) for always being there for me, helping through thick and thin and being the strongest and best woman I know; my dad (Manish Godara) for guiding me in innumerable ways and making me believe in myself, my champion sister (Hiya Singh) for teasing me endlessly yet loving me even more all at the same time, a heartfelt thanks to all. My gratitude to Nanaji (N.R. Fagot) for being my first teacher and loving me unconditionally, my Nanimaa for all the love and kindness she showers upon me, my Dadaji (H.S. Godara) for all his kind and beautiful blessings and my late Dadimaa (Mungeshwari Devi) for her inspiration which she still gives me and to whom I have dedicated my poem "Grandmaa". Thank you to all my extended family, relatives and cousins for all the support. My heartfelt thanks to all my teachers, who shaped me what I am today and my friends for teaching me invaluable lessons, knowingly or unknowingly. My deep gratitude to Kumbha Ram uncle for his tireless efforts and endeavours towards this book. My thanks to Shri Vikas C. Mehta who motivated and inspired me to give this book a shape. My gratitude to Roli Books for publishing this book. A big thank you to the uncountable people who have helped me but I am not able to mention their names, and above all the Almighty God who has showered all the kindest blessings and mercies towards us.
