Tony Johnston is the award-winning author of more than 100 children's books. Johnston lives with her family in San Marino, California. Maria Elena Fontainit De Rhodas is a Mexican psychotherapist who specializes in childhood trauma. Now her practice is in the Yucatan (Merida) and she is intimately aware of what life in small rural towns is like. In addition to her private practice, she works at a public rescue mission for girls in difficult family situations. She has ensured that the story is accurate and current.
