Far from Ibiza’s famed party scene lies a tranquil side of the island that has drawn creatives, visionaries, and icons for decades.

It’s been said that Ibiza emits a powerful energy to new visitors. Some people come for a hedonistic escape, while others find peace and build their own idyllic refuge on the Mediterranean island.

In this new book, author Emma Roig Askari and photographer Ricardo Labougle capture this private side of Ibiza – showcasing dream homes belonging to such luminaries as architect Daniel Romualdez, designer Miranda Makaroff, entrepreneur Bobby Dekeyser, Eugenia Martínez de Irujo, 12th Duchess of Montoro, and many more.

These houses bear the strong imprint of their owners’ personalities combined with the innate magnetism and tranquility of the island, away from its party-centric stereotype. More than a look at extraordinary homes, Inside Ibiza is a tribute to the beauty of the island’s interiors and the irresistible energy of this most famous of the Balearic Islands.

Emma Roig Askari is a contributing editor and long-term columnist for Vanity Fair Spain. In a journalistic career spanning decades and thousands of articles, she has interviewed the likes of Fidel Castro, Manolo Blahnik, Francis Ford Coppola and Rafael Nadal. She has worked for some of the world’s biggest news outlets such as El País, CNN, Reuters and CBS. Her passions extend across the worlds of architecture, art and interior design, coming together across the houses she has decorated in New York, London, Ibiza, and Madrid. A native of Valencia, Roig Askari is a Fulbright Scholar with a Master of Arts from New York University, as well as a Bachelors in Journalism from Universidad Complutense de Madrid. She currently resides between Spain and London, where she serves as an ambassador at Christies for the UK Chairman’s Office.

Ricardo Labougle has been photographing interiors and portraits around the world for more than 25 years. He is a regular collaborator to publications such as The World of Interiors, Architectural Digest, Vogue, Elle Decor, Vanity Fair, and T Magazine. His books include Vendome’s Inside Paris (2024). His personal work has also been shown at galleries in Madrid, Milan, and Buenos Aires.

Daniel Romualdez is an AD100 architect and interior designer who has designed homes for clients such as Aerin Lauder and Tory Burch, as well as commercial spaces. He grew up in Manila and now lives in New York.
